Olympus Stylus 1s Unveiled In Japan

Olympus Japan has unveiled a new compact digital camera to its range, the Stylus 1s. As a successor to the Stylus 1, the new model is packed with a number of new features including step-zoom function, focus peaking, small AF target and focal length display function. In addition, the Stylus 1s also comes with interval shooting and time-lapse video features. While its other main specifications are equivalent to the Stylus 1 of the old model including a 12MP 1/1.7″ BSI CMOS sensor, a 10.7x optical zoom lens, a 1.4M-dot high-def EVF, a 3.0″ 1.04M-dot tilt-touch LCD, built-in WiFi connectivity and 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities. The Stylus 1s will go on sale in Japan from mid-November for around 70,200 Yen (about $642). [Olympus]

Ricoh hits back by bringing you their latest 360-degree spherical digital camera, the Theta M15. Coming with a dual lens design, this unique and eye-catching camera has lenses on both the front and back sides of the camera to enable full 360-degree spherical Imagery to be captured with each exposure. Furthermore, the camera can record up to 3 minutes of 1080p spherical video at 15fps with no stitch lines. Both still images and movies can be saved to the internal 4GB memory. While the built-in WiFi connectivity enables direct wireless transferring to Android or iOS mobile devices, using a dedicated app. Powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the Theta M15 will be available in the US from November 14th for around $300 in blue, yellow, pink and white color options. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the popular character Hello Kitty (November 1st), Fujifilm will launch a special edition ‘Cheki’ instax mini Hello Kitty instant camera. Featuring a large ribbon which is the trade mark of Hello Kitty, this eye-catching Hello Kitty face instant camera comes bundled with 1 pack of picture film (10 sheets), a pink shoulder strap and seal for customizing the camera. In addition, the outer box of the camera is decorated with the illustration of Hello Kitty. Ricoh has introduced a trio of stunning special edition Pentax K-S1 digital SLR cameras called the Pentax K-S1 Sweets Collection. This new collection includes three new color ways – Strawberry Cake, Blue Cream Soda and Lime Pie, all of which incorporate white bodies accentuated with vibrant color accents. The white body camera is paired with a white lens (SMC DA L 18-55mm f3.5-5.6) to enhance the overall appearance. The Pentax K-S1 Sweets Collection comes with the exact same specs as the Pentax K-S1 editions.
