Olympus, Nikon And Canon Firmware Updates

Three huge digital camera manufacturers have announced the firmware update for their famous digital cameras. Canon has released the firmware update for the Canon WFT-E3/E3A wireless transmitter. Meanwhile, the firmware update for Nikon D80 and D200 corrects the problem of light flashing empty, which is also known as the ‘Dead Battery Syndrome’. And finally, firmware v1.1 for the Olympus E-520 corrects the brightness level of AF target points in the Viewfinder mode. [dpreview]

General Electric E1055W, E1050TW and A1030 Cameras

General Imaging (GE) has rolled out three point-and-shoot digital cameras at Photokina 2008. The first one is the GE E1055W that is a 10.1MP camera with a 3-inch LCD monitor, blink / smile detection and a 5x optical zoom. The second camera is the GE E1050TW, which can record high definition movie at 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. And Finally, the GE A1030 that offers a 3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD, ultrathin design and super-simplistic button arrangement. These three digital cameras will be available soon. [Engadget]

Here is a spanking new point-and-shoot digital camera from Kodak that has recently introduced at Photokina 2008. Dubbed as the Kodak Z1485 IS, this 14MP camera features 5x optical zoom lens with Image Stabilizer, ISO up to 6400, intelligent scene detection, intelligent capture control, intelligent image processing, Panorama stitch mode, Face detection technology, Text and sound tagging, Kodak Perfect Touch Technology, 32MB internal memory and SDHC memory card slot. Pentax K2000 Entry-level DSLR Camera

Pentax has a brand new entry-level DSLR. Known as the Pentax K2000, the camera offers basic DSLR features including 10.2MP sensor, 2.7 inch LCD display, supports up to 3200 ISO, continuous shooting rate at 3.5fps, dust removal and alert system, 10 scenes modes, and SD/SDHC memory card slot. What makes the Pentax K2000 cool is that it is also backward compatibility with Pentax lenses that were released since 1975. The Pentax K2000 Entry-level DSLR Camera retails in November for $699 each. [Laptop]

Panasonic has recently unveiled the new Lumix G prototype that has the same design with the Lumix G1. The camera features a stereo microphone which is positioned on the top of the body, on the back, top right side, and a red button to capture HD movie.
