Minox Outs A New Rugged Point-And-Shoot Camera

Check out the new point-and-shoot camera from Minox, the DC 9011 WP. Designed specifically for extreme conditions and rough environments, this rugged camera is both shockproof and waterproof (up to three meters). In terms of specs, it offers a 9.0-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 6x digital zoom lens, a 2.5-inch TFT LCD display, a 16MB of internal memory, an SD/SDHC card slot, a USB 2.0 interface and VGA video recording. Mamiya Sekor AF 55mm And M Back Adapter

Mamiya has recently introduced the Sekor AF 55mm F2.8 LS D lens that is designed for use with the 645DF. This wide-angle features a lens shutter and provides an angle of view of 65 degrees, which is the equivalent to a 34mm lens in the 35mm format. In addition, Mamiya has also announced three separate digital back adapters to connect the M series digital back (M18, M22 or M31) to the RB67, RZ67Pro/ProII and 4×5 cameras. Three New Point-And-Shoot Cameras From Sanyo

Sanyo comes back with three new point-and-shoot cameras in the form of the X1420, X1220 and S122. The X1420 is the top of the line model, it sports a 14-megapixel image sensor, a 28mm wide-angle lens, a 4x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD monitor, SDXC card support and 720p HD video recording at 30fps. Meanwhile, the X1220 and S122 offer the same 12-megapixel image sensor, a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD display and VGA video recording. The only difference between the two cameras is that the X1220 is powered by a lithium-ion battery, while the S122 gets its power from AA batteries. The X1420, X1220 and S122 will become available in Spring for 149 Euro (about $203), 129 Euro (about $176) and 99 Euro (about $135), respectively. Read more

Pentax X90 Megazoom Camera Released

Pentax has finally released the highly anticipated X90 prosumer camera that boasts a 26x megazoom with a super-telephoto lens (26 – 676mm equivalent). The camera also features a Macro mode that focuses to less than one inch away to capture images of subjects that are near or far. Other important features include a 12.1 megapixel sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD, and an electronic viewfinder with diopter adjustment. The Pentax X90 will be shipped in April 2010 for $399.95. [Pentax]

Two New Entry-Level Cameras From Rollei

Rollei has recently added two new entry-level cameras to its range with the announcement of the Compactline 103 and 203. Both cameras feature a 10-megapixel image sensor (103), a 12-megapixel image sensor (203), a 3x optical zoom lens with a 35mm equivalent focal range of 35-105mm, a 2.4-inch LCD display, an SD/SDHC memory card slot and 720p HD video recording at 30fps. Pentax X90 Mega Zoom

The new Pentax X90 features a high magnification optical 26x zoom lens offering a focal-length coverage between a wide-angle 26mm to a super telephoto 676mm (in the 35mm format). The minimal focus distance is 1 cm, which is ideal for macro photography. The camera adopts the Intelligent Zoom function that will extend the camera’s zoom range to approximately 162.5 times (for a focal length of approximately 4225mm in the 35mm format) without compromising the optical performance of the zoom lens. The 12-megapixel camera also features an image stabilization through sensor shifting and a fast face detection system that can recognizes as many as 32 individual subjects in 0.03 seconds. The Pentax X90 records movies at up to 720p and has a special anti-shake movie mode to reduce blurring for video. Too bad, there is no info on pricing or availability at this time. [LetsGoDigital]
