Designed for capturing adventures in extreme conditions, this waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof camera sports a 13.2MP 1/3.1-inch CMOS image sensor, a 3x optical Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens (30-90mm), a 2.7-inch 230k-dot LCD monitor, an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, a dedicated movie record button and 1080p Full HD video recording at 30fps. Not to mention, the camera also offers creative fun for the whole family, with 16 creative styles and effect options, including Underwater Face Framing and an option to shoot videos with miniature effect. Ricoh WG-5 GPS Rugged Digital Camera Announced

Ricoh hits back by announcing their latest rugged digital camera, the WG-5 GPS. Specs-wise, this waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof camera has a 16MP BSI CMOS image sensor, a 25mm wide-angle lens, a 4x optical zoom lens, a 3.0-inch 460k-dot wide-frame LCD monitor, an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, a micro-HDMI output port and built-in GPS module. Other prominent features include A Comprehensive Selection of Underwater Shooting Modes, Dual Anti-Shake Protection for sharp, blur-free images and Six Macro Lights to assist close-up shooting. In terms of video recording, the WG-5 GPS can record 1080p@30fps Full HD video in H.264 format. Samsung NX500 Compact System Camera Introduced

Samsung has introduced another compact system camera ‘NX500’ to its line-up. Combining industry-leading design and technology for everyday use, this interchangeable lens camera is equipped with a 28MP BSI APS-C image sensor, a 3.0-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen tilt/flip display, Samsung’s DRIMeV processor, an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. Powered by a 1130mAh battery, the NX500 can capture up to 4096 x 2160 4K video at 24fps or 3840 x 2160 4K video at 30fps in MP4 H.265 format. Other notable features include Samsung Auto Shot, Hybrid AF System and Burst Shooting 9fps. Olympus has once again expanded its line of rugged digital cameras by announcing the Stylus Tough TG-860. This waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and crushproof camera sports a 16MP 1/2.3-inch BSI-CMOS image sensor, a 21mm ultra wide-angle lens, a 5x optical zoom lens, a 3.0-inch 460k-dot 180-degree flip LCD monitor, an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, GPS with multiple satellite support and built-in WiFi connectivity. Powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery (still: 300 shots / video: 90 minutes – continuous video shooting), the Stylus Tough TG-860 has the ability to capture 1080p@60fps, 720p@60fps, 854×480@120fps or 640×360@240fps video.
