AlienBees has just launched the Cyber Commander, which is a consumer grade radio controlled flash trigger. If all those technicalities confuse you, this camera attachment allows you to control your flash devices from afar. And not only that, the commander interacts with AlienBees Cybersync receivers so you can adjust power output levels using a graphic interface on top of the camera and group sets of lights together using real names instead of just confusing numbers (read: total control from where you’re standing). You can even save your setups on Micro SD cards. Operating on the 2.4GHz band, AlienBees claim up to 400 feet of range, and since these use radio signals, you don’t need line-of-site to use them. $180, coming soon to a camera store near you.
