Sony’s new NSC-GC1 Net-sharing camcorder is targeted specifically at YouTube users who want a quality picture ranging from QVGA (320×240) at 15 fps to VGA (640×480) at 30 fps. The camcorder also sports a built-in flash, 4x digital zoom, a 2.4-inch color LCD, and a rechargeable Li-ion that only lasts about 90 minutes per charge… plenty of time to record footage of sorority girls and post them on YouTube. It also doubles as a 5MP still camera with a built-in flash. The Sony NSC-GC1 camcorder will hit the market in September with the price tag at around $200.

Samsung has recently unveiled the SC-MHX10 HD flash-based camcorder that retails for $799 and offers 8GB of integrated flash memory, plenty to record your girlfriend in the shower. The Samsung SC-MHX10 also features a 1/6 inch CMOS sensor and 10x optical zoom, a 2.7 inch touchscreen LCD display, HDMI connectivity, and a miniUSB 2.0 port.

Victor JVC has unveiled its new Everio GZ-HD3 camcorder which is the little brother of the GZ-HD7. Unfortunately, the Everio GZ-HD3 is not a Full HD camcorder but a HDV that can capture videos with 1440×1080 resolution. Measuring 82mm × 75mm x 15mm and weighing 660grams, the camcorder adopts a Konica Minolta lens with 200x optical zoom and comes with a 60GB hard drive. The device also supports SD and SDHC memory cards. Pricing info is still unavailable.

Hitachi’s latest hybrid DVD+HDD camcorder, the DZ-HS500E, comes jam packed with 30x optical and 1500x digital zoom. The device combines the high capacity of a 30GB Hard disc with the convenience of a multiform at +DVD burner. This camcorder is supported by one touch button to burn movies from HDD to DVD and features 2 channels Dolby Digital acoustic recording. The DZ-HS500E also has a 2.7 inch TFT LCD screen. Normally if you want to take underwater shots you either have to (a) buy an expensive underwater casing for your camera or (b) dip your camera in the water, snap the picture and pull it out as fast as you can hoping that the water hasn’t got into it. Not with this one. Sanyo’s VPC-CA65 can be underwater at depths of up to 1.5 meters for up to an hour. This beauty records at high quality H.264 (with image stabilization) and takes stills at 6 megapixel. At under $500 it comes in a cool ultracompact form factor and uses SD/SDHC for storage.
