Canon has released a new firmware update version 1.0.6 for its EOS Rebel XS/1000D DSLR camera. The update “fixes a problem in which the LCD monitor does not display, the shutter does not release, and the busy indication remains lit in the viewfinder. Carl Zeiss has announced the price tag including release date of their upcoming ultra-wide lens ‘Distagon T* 3.5/18 ZE’ for Canon EOS SLRs. Coming in a relatively compact design, this particular lens provides a wide 99°-angle view which suits perfectly for full-frame sensor cameras, delivering an array of new creative possibilities. The specs for the upcoming Canon EOS 7D have been unveiled. This high-end DSLR will come with a 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor, a 3-inch LCD display (920,000 dot resolution, 160 degree viewing angle), DiG!C 4 imaging processors and an ISO range of 100 to 6400, which extends to 12800. a 1.0x optical viewfinder with intelligent display with electronic horizon line, and EOS Integrated Dust Removal system.
