
Canon has rolled out two new AVCHD camcorders for the Japanese market this week. Known as the iVIS HF21 and iVIS HF S11, these video recorders feature a 64GB of flash memory and support SD and SHDC cards (up to 32GB). The iVIS HF21 and iVIS HF S11 adopt Canon’s DIGIC DV III video image processor that allow these camcorders to record video in 1080/60i with a 24MBps bitrate (less video compression). Canon has officially announced that they will release the EOS Kiss X3 first in Japan next month, followed by the US, Europe and Asia. It is actually an Asian version of the Canon EOS 500D. This budget/entry-level HD-video capable camera features a 15.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor that is ideal for large detailed prints. The camera also offers a high ISO sensitivity up to 3200 which is expandable to 12800. The Canon EOS Kiss X3 is priced at around $800 in Japan. [Akihabara]
