Ricoh Introduces G700SE Rugged Digital Camera

Ricoh has introduced an updated version of its G700 rugged digital camera called the G700SE. Unlike its predecessor, this new version of G700 comes with wireless LAN support, Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a connection for external GPS and laser barcode reader accessories. The camera itself is scheduled to go on sale in the first half of 2011 for 799 Euro (about $1,070). [SlashGear]

Designed specifically for extreme conditions and rough environments, this compact camera is shockproof (from 2m), waterproof (up to 5m) and dustproof. In terms of specs, it sports a 12-megapixel CCD image sensor, a 5x optical zoom lens, a 3.0-inch LCD display, a 103MB of internal memory, an SD/SDHC card slot, a USB 2.0 interface and 720p HD video recording capabilities. Ricoh CX4 Point-And-Shoot Camera

Ricoh is preparing to launch another point-and-shoot camera ‘CX4’ for the mass market. Powered by the Smooth Imaging Engine IV processor, this compact camera offers a 10-megapixel CMOS image sensor, a 10.7x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD screen, an 86MB of internal memory, an SD/SDHC card slot and has the ability to record 720p HD video. Ricoh has finally released the latest firmware updates for the Ricoh CX1, CX2 and CX3 compact digital cameras. The firmware update ver. 1.25 for the CX1 and ver. 1.15 for the CX2 fix issues with printing to PictBridge compatible printers and corrects a bug with distortion correction. Meanwhile, the firmware ver. 1.11 for the Ricoh CX3 improves the accuracy of flash adjustment, and fixes bugs with autoexposure bracketing and distortion correction. Ricoh Lens P10 28-300mm F3.5-5.6 VC*

Ricoh has recently rolled out the P10 28-300 mm F3.5-5.6 VC lens module for their GXR series. The new unit comes packed with a host of new features including a back-illuminated CMOS sensor and the power to change from wide-angle to telephoto at will. Available from selected camera specialists from mid-June 2010, the RICOH LENS P10 28-300 mm F3.5-5.6 VC* is expected to retail for $499 a pop.
