Sanyo Releases 7.1MP mini HD Camcorder

Sanyo will release the 7.1MP Xacti DMX-HD700 mini HD camcorder in the Japan market on October 19, 2007. This slim video camera uses SD/SDHC card as its storage and supports MPEG4/AVC(H.264) video file compressing allowing users to conveniently upload its video clips to the internet. Available in silver, red and brown, the DMX-HD700 also offers various functionalities including ‘Face Chaser Function’ and supports PictBridge function to print out its images through connected printer without a PC.

Sanyo Xacti HD700 Pocket Camera

The Xacti HD700 pocket camera can record 720p video and 7MP still images to SD and SDHC cards. The firm also claims that this shooter can record AVC/H.264 MPEG-4 video, which greatly reduces file size while retaining quality. Other specs include the Face Recognition feature that can track up to a dozen faces and adjust focus and exposure accordingly. Available in silver, red, and brown, the HD700 sports a 2.7-inch flip-out screen and uses a 38-190mm-equivalent, f/3.5-4.7 lens that only offers 5x zoom power. Sanyo’s Xacti HD700 will be available later next month for approx. $600.

BenQ releases its new DC-T800 8MP compact digital camera with a 3-inch touchscreen and “super shake-free” functionality. The T800 also boasts of Face Tracking, in-camera photo editing, 2000 ISO photos, 6400 ISO movies and 30fps 640 x 480 MPEG-4 recording. The camera should be available in October.
