Here is a new digital camcorder from Canon that features 1/6-inch CCD image sensor with 1.07 effective Mega-pixels. The DC230 stores recorded files in miniSD card with superior 35x optical zoom through its advanced lens of f = 2.6 - 91 mm, f/2.0 - 5.0 focal length. The gadget has a 2.7 inch wide angle LCD screen and adopts Canon’s DIGIC DV II processing technology and enhanced USB 2.0 support. No word on pricing so far.

Pentax introduced its new Optio A40 and Optio V10 shooters. The Optio A40 is a high-end digital camera that boasts a 12MP sensor with a 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD screen, a range of shake-reducing measures, and face-recognition. What makes it cool is that the A40 has the ability to record in DivX.

Measuring 19 mm thick, the Optio V10 is a 8MP digital camera with a larger 3-inch LCD, and that same 3x optical zoom. The Optio A40 will be available later this month for $300, while the Optio V10 will be released in November for $250.

The BenQ DC-X735 is a compact 7.2MP digital camera with a 2.5-inch LCD display, 3 x zoom (4 x on the digital side), ISO to 6400 (in Movie Mode), MPEG4 video recording, and an SDHC slot for up to 4GB of storage capacity. The camera’s face tracking function automatically detects and tracks up to nine human faces. It also offers 29 scene modes, including manual mode, S.S.F (Super Shake Free) mode, portrait mode and night scene mode. Coming in “Vixen-red” or “Midnight-black”, this shooter will be available later this month.
