Canon EOS 50D Digital SLR

After weeks of speculative rumors across the net, Canon has finally launched the much anticipated EOS 50D, an upgraded version of EOS 40D. On the surface it looks almost similar to its predecessor. However, there are quite a few significant improvements; It features an APS-C sized 15.1-megapixel CMOS sensor for tremendous images, new DIGIC 4 Image Processor for fine detail and superior color reproduction, and improved ISO capabilities up to 12800. The EOS 50D delivers unparalleled speed and resolution at a price point that is unique in today’s market. The digital SLR camera is scheduled for October delivery and will be sold in a body-only configuration at an estimated selling price of $1,399 USD. [DPReview]

Canon’s Latest Entry Level Cameras A2000/A1000 IS

Canon Powershot A2000 / A1000 IS

Canon has released their latest model to the point-and-shoot camera lineup. A2000 IS is launched as a sequel to 720 IS. It features 10-megapixel capture, a 6x optical zoom with image stabilization, a 3-inch LCD screen, and an overall slimmer housing. It will allow even complete newbie to shot stunning photos. It is available in silver and gray, and retails for $250. A cheaper version comes with A1000 IS and E1 model with slightly smaller 4x zoom and 2.5″ LCD, and is available in purple, blue, silver, and brown color choices for S1 or pink, baby blue, and white for E1. Pictures of new Canon EOS 50D Leaked

The details of Canon EOS 50D specs are still catchy, although we know it’s a 15.1-megapixel camera (with standard 1.6x CMOS sensor factor) with a 9-segment AF/AE sensor array, 95% view viewfinder and shoots at ISO 100 to 3200. Interestingly the rumor has it that it will have an HDMI output too. Just recently, we got leaked official photos of the unit. We’ll keep you posted on price and release dates. [Gizmodo]

New Panasonic DMC-FX180 With Monstrous 14,7 Mpx Resolution

Panasonic Korea launched has launched DMC-FX180 to its LUMIX lineup. FX180 features a 1/1.72-inch CCD with ultra-high, 14.7-megapixel resolution 3.6x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens making it one of the highest resolution point-and-shoots in the market. Advance users also get to manually set aperture and shutter-speed for particular shots. The shooter has 50MB of internal memory, and ofcourse, is extensible with an SD or SDHC card. As for the exterior look, FX180 share similar design with the rest of FX models. Its subtle design clearly hides the functions underneath. No details on availability and price, but it should be in the range of $450. [Panasonic]
