The Ricoh Caplio R5 is a 7.24MP CCD camera, which boasts a large 2.5-inch LCD display, “Smooth Imaging Engine II”, 26MB of internal memory, an SD/MMC card slot, and a powerful 7.1x optical wide zoom lens. Ricoh proves once again that it can match and often exceed anything its rivals can produce. The Caplio R5 has a unique specification, combining wide angle and long telephoto abilities, effective image stabilisation and a usable high ISO setting, with good image quality and outstanding performance. Its only weak point is its poor low light focusing ability.

I heard the rumor that Nikon will release the Nikon D40 DSLR which will be Nikon’s offering to the amateur photographer who has been bitten by the photography bug. Measuring 94mm × 126mm x 64mm, the Nikon D40 would be smaller and lighter compared to older bro D50. However, this camera also will have a 6.1MP resolution and some other features like 2.5 inch LCD, 3 AF points, 3 metering modes, USB 2.0., i-TTL compatible, 1/500 Flash Sync and SD, SD-HC support.
