Review of Ricoh Caplio R5

The Ricoh Caplio R5 is a 7.24MP CCD camera, which boasts a large 2.5-inch LCD display, “Smooth Imaging Engine II”, 26MB of internal memory, an SD/MMC card slot, and a powerful 7.1x optical wide zoom lens. The camera measures only 96mm x 55mm x 26mm and is capable of taking up to 380 shots on a single charge. TrustedReviews has a deep review of this camera. Here the bottom line:

Ricoh proves once again that it can match and often exceed anything its rivals can produce. The Caplio R5 has a unique specification, combining wide angle and long telephoto abilities, effective image stabilisation and a usable high ISO setting, with good image quality and outstanding performance. Its only weak point is its poor low light focusing ability.

Ricoh Caplio RR730

Ricoh Caplio RR730

You can add the new Ricoh Caplio RR730 Digital Camera to your shopping list this month. The RR730 is a very compact little device with dimensions only 3.5 inch x 2.4 inch x 1 inch. First of all, you should know that it has 7.1 MP, which gives you the best of details and the most vibrant of colors. You can enlarge your photos to A4 size (21 cm x 30 cm) with no loss of detail. Its optical 3x zoom is about to give the best close-up shots, and an additional zoom makes it up to 12x zoom. The camera is also USB connectable and has video output functionality, so it can see your photos from your TV or laptop. All this comes with 32 MB of storage space, so you should have plenty of space for your pictures. And if 32 MB isn’t enough for you, then you can simply purchase an SD Memory Card for even more space. Its Macro mode can capture excellent details of life, in other words, you can capture the intricate beauty of a small object from as little as a few inches away. Moreover, you can also capture video with the resolution of 320 x 240. The Ricoh Caplio RR730 will be hit the market later this year with a price tag of US$248. Sadly, the camera is not rechargeable, and relies on its power from 2 AA batteries.

Upcoming Nikon D40 Digital Camera

I heard the rumor that Nikon will release the Nikon D40 DSLR which will be Nikon’s offering to the amateur photographer who has been bitten by the photography bug. Measuring 94mm × 126mm x 64mm, the Nikon D40 would be smaller and lighter compared to older bro D50. However, this camera also will have a 6.1MP resolution and some other features like 2.5 inch LCD, 3 AF points, 3 metering modes, USB 2.0., i-TTL compatible, 1/500 Flash Sync and SD, SD-HC support.
