Samsung just announced its latest quarter-inch optical format, 5-megapixel system-on-chip (SoC) image sensor, which brings digital still camera functionality to high-end mobile phones. The SoC is capable of processing 1080p resolution images at 30 fps and supports high quality video capture on advanced mobile phones. The SoC also provides auto focus, Xenon flash, mechanical or electronic rolling shutter. [dcviews]
