AgfaPhoto will launch a new camcorder called the DV-5000Z. it features a 5-megapixel Micron CMOS sensor, 2.5-inch flip-out LCD, 3x optical zoom and an SD / SDHC slot to store info on. The DV-5000Z will also be able to capture clips at 1,280 x 720 (using H.264 compression) and 16-bit stereo sound. Additional features include USB connectivity, a rechargeable Li-ion and video out. It’s going for about €249 ($393) in Russia next month. Unfortunately it wont be coming to the States ever. [Engadget]

JVC has announced that they will be releasing their GR-D870 mini DV camcorder. It features a 1/6-inch 680k pixel CCD, 35x optical zoom, 2.7-inch LCD monitor, DV in/out and 3D Noise Reducer,a SD/MMC card slot for snapping digital stills as well as recording footage to miniDV. $250
