JVC's Latest Everio Camcorder

JVC will release the Everio GZ-HM400 Full HD camcorder in August 2009 for around $1150. The video recorder features a 10.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 2.8-inch LCD display, a 32GB internal memory, a SDHC memory card slot, Konica Minolta HD Lens with a 10x Optical zoom, an HDMI output, and iTunes and YouTube support. The GZ-HM400 also adopts K2 technology for a better audio. The camera is able to record around 3-hours of video in full HD resolution. [Akihabara]

Kodak Zi8 HD Pocket Camcorder

Kodak has recently announced the new Zi8 HD ultra-portable camcorder, which is a successor to the Zi6 and the Zx1. The Zi8 features a larger 2.5-inch LCD with a face recognition, an image stabilization, and a 1080p HD recording. Users can also upload pictures directly to YouTube and Facebook. In addition, the camcorder has a flip-out USB arm for connection to a computer. Available in blue, red, and black, the Kodak Zi8 will be released in September 2009 for $179. [Gizmodo]

Samsung SMX-K40 and SMX-K45 Camcorders

Samsung today introduced the SMX-K40 and SMX-K45 camcorders that can record standard definition video at a resolution of 720×480px, and then can be played back on an HDTV in near full-HD quality thanks to advanced upscaling technology and HDMI connectivity. The SMX-K40 and SMX-K45 adopt a 65x Intelli-Zoom which allows users to use up to 52x optical zoom, advanced Optical Image Stabilizer to capture the moment perfectly even if your hands are shaking, and a Schneider KREUZNACH lens. The Samsung SMX-K45 has an internal 32GB Solid State Drive (SSD), providing up to 20 hours and 40 minutes of recording time depending on the recording mode. Sony DVDirect Camcorder-to-DVD Recorder

Sony just introduced the VRD-MC6, which is a new DVDirect camcorder-to-DVD recorder. The gadget can transfer AVCHD quality videos to DVD discs in their native 1080i HD resolution when connected directly to a Sony hard drive or Memory Stick media-based Handycam camcorder. These AVCHD quality DVDs can be played back on compatible Blu-ray disc devices, including players, computer drives, and Sony PlayStation 3 console. Exemode Japan released the DV533UW waterproof video camera that has a similar design with Sanyo Xacti camcorders. The DV533UW is a 5.17MP camera with 32MB of internal memory and a 2.4-inch LCD display. It can record video in both VGA and QVGA resolution at 30fps.
