Canon has unveiled the successor to its PowerShot SX10 IS digital camera with the introduction of SX20 IS. Unlike its predecessor, the SX20 IS offers more advanced features including a 12.1-megapixel CCD sensor, 20x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch swivel-out LCD display, an HDMI output and records HD video at 1280 x 720 (30fps) with stereo sound. Canon has launched the Canon Remote Switch RS60 that allows camera owners to easily control shutter release button functions. The device is compatible with most Canon EOS cameras and is quite simple to plug in. Each purchase comes with a 2-ft. cable to replicate all the functions of the shutter release for Canon cameras including Canon EOS Rebel 2000, EOS Rebel X/XS, EOS Rebel G, EOS Elan II, EOS Elan IIe, and EOS IX. Here is the replacement battery pack for the Canon 5D Mark II Digital SLR. The Canon LP-E6 battery pack is rated at 7.2V, 1800 mAh. This Lithium-ion battery is approximately 30% more powerful than the previous BP-511A. Canon has released a firmware update version 1.0.7 for its EOS 50D digital SLR. This new update “corrects the magenta cast that can appear on images in specific shooting modes. It also fixes incorrect indications on the Arabic, Romanian, Spanish and Ukrainian menu screens.” You’ll be able to download the update directly from Canon’s official website starting today. Some friends at Akihabara have reviewed the famous Canon Powershot G10 DSLR. As a successor to the G9, the Powershot G10 features a 14.7-megapixel CCD sensor with a new 28-140mm wide zoom, a 3.0-inch TFT color LCD with wide viewing angle, and a DIGIC IV processor. Here is the verdict.
What to say? Well I kind of like the G10, despite its weakness over 200 ISO, hey this is a Point & Shoot After All, The G10 is a great capable little camera which can be either use for leisure and if you are willing to learn more about how to play with exposure and ISO, of if you an Amateur or Semi-Pro looking forward to always carry a good camera along with him. Personally if I had to start a News Blog from scratch and needed a descent affordable compact camera, the G10 will be my first choice! Oh and I forget, the G10 also offer a Video Mode, just forget about it… This features is purely marketing rather than useful.
