AgfaPhoto comes back with a new underwater and outdoor camera in the form of the DC-600uw. This 6-megapixel camera can withstand pressures of up to two bar and water-resistant at depths of up to 10 meters. It comes with a 2.4-inch display, a digital zoom, and the face tracking function that automatically recognizes faces. The Agfa DC-600uw will be available in July for $210. [dcviews]
Pentax comes back with its rugged point-and-shoot camera in the form of the Optio W80. The camera is waterproof up to 16 feet underwater and will survive drops from 3.3 feet. It also works in 14 degree weather, so this camera is perfect for adventurers. Available in Cardinal Red, Azure Blue and Gunmetal Gray, the Pentax Optio W80 will be released in July for $300 each. Pentax has also introduced a custom designed clear protective skin for $16.95 along with a comfortable floating wrist strap for $19.95. [Gizmodo]
Olympus Korea today released the Olympus E-620 DSLR camera for the Korean market. This 12.3MP DSLR camera adopts easy-to-use Art Filter function, with a swivel 2.7-inch HyperCrystal LCD and in-body Image Stabilization. In addition, Olympus Korea also announced five new premium digital cameras from its Mju series including Mju9000, Mju7000, Mju5000, Mju1070, and Mju550WP. These digicams feature “Beauty Mode” to enhance the appearance of the human face.
There are also five new digital cameras from Olympus’ FE series including FE-5010, FE-3010, FE-45, FE-35, FE-25, and the high-end Olympus SP-590UZ with 26x optical zoom lens. And finally, two rugged cameras from Mju Tough series including the Mju Tough-8000 and Mju Tough-6000. [AVING]
Samsung releases the new ST10 and PL10 9MP cameras with 3x optical inner zoom. Both cameras also adopt advance Smart Face Recognition that actually identifies people rather than just detecting them. This technology is able to search for pictures of up to 15 faces in a thumbnail-form without looking at each individual photo. The Samsung ST10 and PL10 digicams will be released in March this year. Here is a news update for the new Samsung TL320 12MP shooter. The camera offers 5x zoom with 24mm wide angle lens, and 720p HD video recording. What makes this camera special is that it comes with a bright 3 inch AMOLED display that offers 10,000:1 contrast ratio for viewing outdoors. Sony has decided to release its new Sony Cybershot digital cameras in Japan. The Cybershot DSC-T90 and DSC-T900 come with 3 inch and 3.5 inch, respectively. These 12.1MP cameras offer the latest Super HAD CCD, BIONZ image processor and record video in 720p30 at both 6 and 9Mbps.
