
Canon has officially announced that they will release the EOS Kiss X3 first in Japan next month, followed by the US, Europe and Asia. It is actually an Asian version of the Canon EOS 500D. This budget/entry-level HD-video capable camera features a 15.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor that is ideal for large detailed prints. The camera also offers a high ISO sensitivity up to 3200 which is expandable to 12800. The Canon EOS Kiss X3 is priced at around $800 in Japan. [Akihabara]

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH1 is claimed to be the world’s first DSLR camera with exchangeable lenses that is capable of capturing full High Definition video in a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 60fps. Each video clip is stored in the AVCHD (MPEG_4/H.264) format. Besides its capability to capture full High Definition video, the camera also features fully automatic iA mode, it provides excellent pictures for beginners. Olympus has rolled out a new entry level DSLR, the Olympus E-620 which is claimed to be ‘the world’s smallest and lightest D-SLR with built in image stabilization’. The camera comes equipped with a 12.3 megapixel sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD display and ISO up to 3200. The Olympus E-620 will go on sale in May for about $699. There is a rumor from Photofan.jp about the Sony A800 DSLR that comes with a 15.2MP APS-C CMOS Exmor “R” sensor. However, there is no confirmation from Sony. Other specs are include ISO 100-12.800, 6.5 frame per second, new high speed flash synchronize, 9 double cross f/2.8 AF sensor (23 total AF sensor), new metering and AF sensor with tracking and previous focus, Dual AF Ultra-Speed motor and Wi-Fi support. Pentax will release its limited edition K2000 DSLR camera that will come in the black-and-white cookie style. The company will release it in February 2009 for approx. $800.
