Panasonic just released three new firmware updates for DMC-FT1 / TS1, DMC-TZ6 / ZS1, and DMC-TZ7/ ZS3. The firmware version 1.1 for the FT1 / TS1 supports playback for AVCHD motion picture format (1280×720) and improves quality of viewing still images. Meanwhile, the firmware update for the TZ6 / ZS1 incorporates a reduction of noise of auto focusing (Quick AF) during action and improves the quality of viewing still images. Sigma today released firmware update version 1.1 for their 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM Four Thirds lens for use with Olympus and Pansonic digital SLR cameras. Canon today announced the availability of firmware update version 1.1.1 for the EOS-40D digital SLR camera. The new update software fixes a rare problem that causes a low battery indication, fixes a problem causing a Self Cleaning Sensor error, fixes a malfunction with the direct printing function, modifies the brightness of the AF-assist beam when using an external Speedlite flash unit and enables an external flash on the synchronize terminal to fire when the built-in flash is popped up.
