Sony has added two new members to its HD Handycam line-up with the introduction of HDR-CX500V and HDR-CX520V. Both of these cameras are equipped with a 12-megapixel image sensor, a new backlit CMOS sensor, a built-in GPS (to geotag photos and videos), a three-way image stabilization that catches unusual movements, a touch-based face detection system and a six-blade aperture. Either camera is capable of capturing digital still images at high resolution as well as 1080i widescreen video in AVCHD (H.2640) format. The main difference is that the CX500V only comes with a 32GB of storage, meanwhile, the CX520V offers a bigger storage capacity of 64GB. Weighing only 220g, this ultra-light camcorder is capable of capturing 1920 x 1080 high-definition video as well as 4-megapixel digital still images and features a 2.7-inch wide LCD touch panel, a professional-quality Carl Zeiss Vaio-Tessar lens, a 10X optical zoom, a BIONZ Image Processor, a 16GB of flash memory, a Memory Stick PRO Duo card slot, a built-in GPS and NAVTEQ digital maps and a built-in flash.
