
Sanyo comes back with its new compact HD camcorder known as the Xacti CG11. This powerful camcorder is capable of capturing both full 1280 x 720 resolution HD video at 30fps as well as high-resolution 10-megapixel digital still images. It also comes with a number of advanced features such as a built-in recognition of Eye-Fi’s cards, allowing users to share video over WiFi to YouTube without having to plug in, 5x optical zoom lens, a 40MB of internal memory, an SD/SDHC card slot and a mini HDMI port. Still remember the Sony HDR-CX500 HD camcorder that we mentioned back in July? Sony Electronics has started to sell this video recorder for about $1,100 each. The HDR-CX500 is capable of 1920×1080 HD video recording with a 12X optical zoom, and a 150X digital zoom. Other features include a 3.0-inch wide touch panel Clear Photo Plus LCD, a built-in GPS receiver with geo-tagging, a face detection technology, a smile shutter and an Optical Steadyshot to ensure quality image stabilization while in Active Mode. Kodak has recently announced the new Zi8 HD ultra-portable camcorder, which is a successor to the Zi6 and the Zx1. The Zi8 features a larger 2.5-inch LCD with a face recognition, an image stabilization, and a 1080p HD recording. Users can also upload pictures directly to YouTube and Facebook. In addition, the camcorder has a flip-out USB arm for connection to a computer. Available in blue, red, and black, the Kodak Zi8 will be released in September 2009 for $179. [Gizmodo]

Samsung today introduced the SMX-K40 and SMX-K45 camcorders that can record standard definition video at a resolution of 720×480px, and then can be played back on an HDTV in near full-HD quality thanks to advanced upscaling technology and HDMI connectivity. The SMX-K40 and SMX-K45 adopt a 65x Intelli-Zoom which allows users to use up to 52x optical zoom, advanced Optical Image Stabilizer to capture the moment perfectly even if your hands are shaking, and a Schneider KREUZNACH lens. The Samsung SMX-K45 has an internal 32GB Solid State Drive (SSD), providing up to 20 hours and 40 minutes of recording time depending on the recording mode. Panasonic is getting ready to release a new HD camcorder ‘HS350′ that comes equipped with a 240GB hard drive. This particular camera is capable of capturing up to 31 hours, 40 minutes of 1080i widescreen footage in AVCHD (H.264) format. Apart from that, it also integrates a microSDHC card slot for adding up to another 32GB of storage. Other specs include a 2.7-inch LCD monitor, 12x optical zoom lens, a built-in 5.1ch microphone and up to 1.5 hours of battery life when recording to the hard drive. Pure Digital will release the Flip Ultra HD camcorder very soon. This video camera is expected to provide 720p recording and 4GB of storage, which is enough to store up to 2 hours of HD video.
