
Nikon comes back with a new EDG Fieldscope series. The two angled 65-A and 85-A are all waterproofed with O-ring seals and nitrogen gas, allowing the Fieldscopes to be used in adverse weather conditions. The EDG is compatible with Coolpix compact digital cameras. [dcviews]

Nikon today released firmware update version 1.2 for the Coolpix P6000. As a reminder, it is a 13.5 megapixel camera with a 4x optical zoom. The camera can also record TV-quality movies with sound; directly into your SD/SDHC card. You can download the software updates here. [dcviews]

Nikon today introduced the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens exclusively for Nikon’s DX format. This new 35mm single-focal-length lens provides a picture angle equivalent to a focal length of 52.5mm in FX in 35mm format and has a large maximum aperture of f/1.8 enabling effortless handheld shooting in dark settings, and a built-in Silent Wave Motor to ensure fast, quiet autofocus, even with cameras without a built-in motor, such as the Nikon D40 and D60. The Nikon S230 and S220 digital cameras come equipped with Blink Proof, Quick Retouch, Scene Auto Selector and Scene Mode. These 10MP cameras also comes with Nikkor 3x zoom lens, ISO 2000 sensitivity range and Motion Detection. Available in Soft Silver, Warm Silver, Aqua Green, Gloss Red, Night Blue, Cobalt Blue, Magenta and Purple to Black, the Nikon S230 and S220 will come with 3 inch and 2.5 inch LCD displays, respectively. Nikon has recently released two new digital cameras from its Coolpix S-series. Dubbed as the Nikon S630 and S620, these 12MP cameras feature Nikkor zoom lens, Blink Proof feature, Smile Mode and Blink Warning, Quick Retouch and Subject Tracking AF. The S630 is available only in Black or Ruby Red. The S620 comes in Bright Silver, Calm Black, Noble Purple and Precious Pink. The former has a 7x zoom meanwhile the latter is less capable at 4x zoom.
