Third Firmware Update For Sigma DP2 Camera

Sigma has launched the third firmware update for the Sigma DP2 digital camera. This update version 1.03 provides the following improvements to your DP2 including:

  • Decreases the intermittent camera freeze under certain conditions.
  • The accuracy of the Auto White Balance has been improved.

Sigma Unveils DP1s Digital Compact Camera

Sigma has introduced an updated version of its DP1 digital compact camera by unveiling the DP1s. Unlike its predecessor, the DP1s adds several new features including the ability to simultaneously shoot separate RAW and JPEG images, and to allocate the QS (Quick Set) function to the digital zoom buttons. As for the sensor and processor remain the same as found in DP1 model. The Sigma DP1s is likely to be released in November for unannounced price yet. [ephotozine]

Sigma today released the second firmware update for the Sigma DP2 digital camera. This firmware update version 1.02 fixes the accuracy of the Auto Focus and allows the magnification display function to be selected by pressing the OK button when in Manual Focus mode. Sigma DP2 Now Available In The UK

The Sigma DP2 pseudo-DSLR camera that we reviewed back in March is finally available in the UK for a retail price of £599.99 ($913). Meanwhile, for the optional Hood adapter and Viewfinder cost £19.99 ($30) and £114.99 ($175), respectively. As a reminder, this high-end compact digital camera is equipped with a 14 megapixel Foveon X3 Direct Image Sensor, a 2.5-inch TFT color display, a ‘True’ image processing engine, a built-in flash and a 24.2mm (41mm equivalent) f/2.8 lens.
