Point Grey has demonstrated a new webcam using USB 3.0 that streams uncompressed video in 1080p at 60fps. They have created a video demonstration of their prototype webcam, which was made up of a few components from other companies (Sony IMX036 CMOS image sensor). Due to the speed of USB 3.0, the webcam is capable of streaming and displaying its 1920×1080 video without compression, which creates an extremely sharp image quality.
